A sloping garden that holds water is a building job wearing a gardening hat.
Steep plots, tired lawns and that one corner nobody has walked into since 2019. We reshape levels, build retaining structures that will still be standing in twenty years, and get the water going somewhere sensible.
Whole garden rebuild or one improvement, the standards don't change. New turf, raised beds, steps between levels, a path to the back door that doesn't turn into a skating rink in November.
Fixed itemised price, and the site goes away with us. No pile of subsoil left behind the shed as a souvenir.
Cut and fill into usable levels with retaining structures sized for the load, not guessed at.
Sleeper, block or local stone, with drainage behind them so water is not pushing on the back all winter.
Prepared subgrade, proper edging and drainage. Grass laid on compacted clay dies by August either way.
Land drains, soakaways and regrading for the gardens that turn into a bog every October.
Consistent risers, grippy surfaces and a route to the bins you can use in the dark carrying things.
Timber or stone beds, topsoil worth the name, and planting that copes with salt wind if you are near the coast.

Around Plymouth you get slope, clay and a lot of rain. That combination puts real load on anything holding soil back and real water on anything flat. A retaining wall built without drainage behind it and without the right footing will lean, and it will do it slowly enough that nobody blames the wall.
So we start at the bottom. Levels surveyed, water given somewhere to go, structures footed properly, then the surfaces and the planting. It is less exciting than a mood board, and it is why the garden still looks like this in ten years.
